I have a TC 40 D with hydrostatic trans.
Ever since new, it has slowly lost hydraulic fluid. I have approx. 85 hours and have put close to 15 gallons in. I told the dealer about it during the 50 hour service. They obviously didn't catch it. The filter is tight and not leaking. No obvious signs of leakage anywhere. Seems to manifest when I'm doing heavy work. Could there be a pinhole in a line somewhere?

carefull !!!!!!!!
check all of your conections first /even a small leak can be dangerous,
get a partner and have them use one hydraulic circuit/loader/hoe/ect, at a time as you use a piece of card board box and follow the hydraulic lines while that circuit is under presure.
even a pin hole can cut you or even as the owners manual will tell you// inject fluid into you that will require surgery and emergency treatment !!!!!!!! ....

look for areas where dust is acumulating, or sticking. Any where where there is a fitting or hose if it is moist and dust is stick to it you leak will be around that area. What Kind of implements are you running? Do you have a loader? Rear hyd. out puts? ....

Thats nearly a quart an hour! Look on the gorund while parked. Look on the ground while driving back and forth on the same track. For that kind of a leak look for a clean spot in the dust! ....

What types of attachments/implements are you using? The dealer may not have caught the problem if the leak is on an attachment that wasn't on the tractor at the time of service. Do you have any attachments that may drain fluid when not on the tractor, requiring the tractor to re-charge the system everytime you use that attachment? Just a few things to think about besides the tractor systems. Look on your implements for dirt build-up. Hydraulic oil and dirt make a pretty sticky paste. ....
